Revisiting the Kykeon

Our research on the pharmacological plausibility of the kykeon—the ritual drink of the Eleusinian Mysteries—has been published in Scientific Reports (Nature Portfolio). The study evaluates the chemical and toxicological feasibility of long-standing hypotheses surrounding Eleusis, marking a significant step in ongoing laboratory-based research into Greece’s ancient pharmaka.
